BEHIND THE ARTWORK

Texas-based artist Kelcie Johnson creates a variety of artworks including abstract paintings comprised of oil and acrylic paint on canvas, as well as, realistic portraiture and intimate illustrations of both the human and animal form. Her encompassing range in concept, scale and dimension challenges the eye to take a glimpse deeper into the movement that flows from piece to piece. A feeling, a thought, a breath all merged into a visual representation, triggering the mind to react and engage in a new language never before experienced.
Kelcie Johnson lives and works in Texas. She received a BFA from Texas State University - San Marcos. The artist's work has been shown in San Marcos and Houston, including featured faculty illustrations in Rice University's Rice Business Wisdom magazine from 2018 - present. Other works include commissioned drawings and paintings for various individuals from industries such as oil & gas, brewery distribution, and higher education.
